## OFFICIAL

Dear s 22(1)(a)(ii)

Thank you for your patience.

We have received further advice from the Diplomatic Protocol Office at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and, on this occasion, the airport facilitation they are able to offer us is the exemption from search:

We would like to inform the esteemed Embassy that the exemption from the Hungarian Civil Aviation Authority grants exemption under hand search of passengers, handbags and hold bags.

The Protocol Office also informed us about the possibility of booking Government Lounge at Budapest airport but I believe that will not be required as Mr Abbott will be able to use lounge access as per the conditions of his ticket.

Subject: RE: Request for airport facilitation from Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott - Travel to Hungary s 22(1)(a)(ii) May/June 2025 [SEC=OFFICIAL]

OFFICIAL

Hi s 22(1)(a)(ii)

I've contacted Vienna Airport regarding Mr Abbott's airport facilitation.

They informed me that they don't offer personal facilitation however, if interested, they recommended booking their VIP service. This (chargeable) service provides escort for VIP guests, including the skipping of passport check queues. The price for this service starts from EUR 450.00 per guest (plus EUR 225.00 for each additional guest).

However, transiting through Vienna airport is quite straightforward and more information can be found on the Vienna Airport website. Please note, Mr Abbott s 47F(1) will need to go through passport control as they will be arriving from Schengen country s 22(1)(a)(ii)

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Thank you,

s 22(1)(a)(ii)
